PLA Filament - 1.75mm We have over 13 different coloured PLA 1.75mm filaments in our Bilby3D brand PLUS Makerbot PLA as well. PLA extrudes at between 180-230 degrees C and does not require a heated bed.
Polylactic Acid (PLA) is a thermoplastic aliphatic polyester made from natural and renewable materials, most commonly corn starch. PLA is biodegradable and can be used as an alternative to ABS. PLA requires a lower extrusion temperature and becomes a liquid when extruding. PLA is also advantageous as a support material as it dissolved in caustic soda.
You should also be aware that PLA is susceptible to water absorption from the air in the filament state. YOU MUST keep it stored in an air tight container, preferably with water absorbing crystals or similar. PLA is biodegradable over up to 15 years (faster when exposed to UV light).
Bilby3D PLA in pure, Bright White (not cream in colour). Now on clear spools plus a heavy duty resealable bag for easy storage.
Our perfectly wound spools mean that each round of filament is wound closely next to the previous round - so the spool does not want to unwind, and there is minimal chance of tangles
Now on a clear spool, also includes a heavy duty resleable bag More

Bilby3D PLA, solid, non-transparent Bright Orange. Now on clear spools plus a heavy duty resealable bag for easy storage.
Our perfectly wound spools mean that each round of filament is wound closely next to the previous round - so the spool does not want to unwind, and there is minimal chance of tangles (picture is old version, not-perfectly wound) More
This Bilby3D PLA filament is clear. The optical clarity will depend on how well each strand of filament that is printed melts with the surrounding material. If the strands are not pushed together, the curves of the strands will bend light giving it a white appearance (same way that air bubles in water look white). We have had some success with annealing the printed part by placing in an oven at around 60-80 degrees for 5-10mins. More
Bilby3D PLA filament in purple. Now on clear spools plus a heravy duty resealable bag for easy storage.
Our perfectly wound spools mean that each round of filament is wound closely next to the previous round - so the spool does not want to unwind, and there is minimal chance of tangles More
Bilby3D PLA. Natural in colour, it has no pigment added, so it is whitish and translucent. Now on clear spools plus a heavy duty resealable bag for easy storage.
Our perfectly wound spools mean that each round of filament is wound closely next to the previous round - so the spool does not want to unwind, and there is minimal chance of tangles More
