PEI is the build surface of choice for printing ABS. It bonds incredibly while hot, making lifted prints a thing of the past, and when cool the printed part just pops right off. It is also a permemnent build plate solution. Its thicker and stiffer than other build surfaces and can be cleaned and refreshed a number of ways.

Materials

PLA - PEI adheres to PLA quite well, but not as well as Flashforges Blue Bed Tape. It requires a very clean surface, and a good first layer. If adhesion is poor, clean the bed with Isopropyl alcohol and reduce the nozzle offset. Glue stick can be used on PEI to increase adhesion. Bed temperature should be 50 - 55 degrees.

ABS - PEI loves ABS, sometimes a little too much. If your parts do not come off easily when cool youll need to increase your nozzle offset. You should have a very difficult time removing the print while the bed is hot, and an easy time when cold. Bed temperature should be 100 - 110 degrees.

PETG - PEI and PETG are in the same family of plastics and can permanently bond. Keep a healthy nozzle offset and its safest to print to a layer of glue stick. Removing PETG parts from PEI is easier while the bed is somewhat hot. Bed temperature should be 85 - 90 degrees, and remove parts around 40 - 60 degrees.

Care
PEI is best cleaned with Isopropyl alcohol. To refresh the surface better heat the bed to 100 degrees, unplug your printer from the wall and lay a damp towel over the bed for 5 minutes, then wipe off any remaining moisture and youre good to print. For a heavily worn surface a light sand with some high-grit sandpaper will make the PEI stick even better than new. After 6 months of printing Ive had to use the soak trick twice, and never needed to touch it with sandpaper.
To remove glue-stick mild detergent and a damp cloth will do the trick.
